Private flat in Barcelona: Les Corts

In a newly built building, it is placed this flat in Barcelona city. Due to its good distribution, there was no need of changing its floor-plan and the project consists of furnishing, taking into account customers taste/needs and preserving functionality. As good Swedes, my customers were in love with Scandinavian style or maybe I should say "Ikea" style. However, in love also with good design and comfort, I designed their home where they actually love to be. Being a second residence, there was no need of having large storage, so I kept it simple and elegant. Straight lines and excellent materials quality: Oak wood and high quality lacquers from the best furniture companies in Spain and from abroad.
One of the challenges was to design a medium to small size living-room with four swivel and reclinable armchairs and two footstols. Comfort was a priority, but armchairs should visually look as light as possible in order to keep the harmony. The idea was to create a space where my customers could mantain conversations with their guests and also, turn the seats without moving the armchairs to watch TV. To work with Treku furniture brand offered me the possibility to customize furniture thanks to its modular system and a good range of colors which allowed me to create a “unique” furniture for my customers, offering functionality, color balance and perfect aesthetics. Among other brands Gan Rugs, Boconcept, Ondarreta, Maisons du Monde, Norman Copenhagen and Carpyen take a place in this project. The badroom furniture and the inside of wardrobes were specially made by a carpenter.
TERRACE: The aim for this terrace in a pre-top floor was to give privacy from neighbours, to be able to cover all surface from sun and isolate from street noise. Its irregular shape and technical aspects must be taken into account in order to offer a good solution. There was no possibility to cover it with regular awnings because they open always straightforward and do not cover all terrace as my customers required. We could not install pergola due to waterproofing in floor and frontwall. Soliday rollable sunsail adapts perfectly to terrace’s shape and its system allows installation from side to side.I have designed woodplanters all along perimeter which allows an electrical installation for lights and other amenities like coffee maker, etc. Plants offer a green breath in the middle of the big city and help to create an acoustic barrier. My proposal includes a technical floor with wood slats which contributes to a warm outdoor space. All this is accompanied by Gandia Blasco furniture, elegant, comfortable and highly resistant to climatology.
