Little children get their first experience outside the family and home when they come to
pre-school. They are at an age when they are most susceptible to external influences, so
it is important to stimulate their creativity, encourage learning and give them a calm and
safe daily life where they both dare and want to develop. Our intention was to create an
environment that reinforces these values where children can play, create, rest and work
together. An environment that encourages good communication between the children, to
interaction as well as own creation or work. One of the conditions from call for tender
was to create flexible rooms. Rooms that could be used in different ways just by
changing the way how furniture was placed. Under these lines, there are three exemples
of distribution. Teachers can easily move furniture around due to a selection of furniture
which is light and/or have wheels.
Diverse activities can be performed in the rooms and distribution was thought within
Lekolar’s learning situations: Story telling, teamwork, performance, recreation, nook,
learning and physical activity. We obtained second place in this call for tender.
